So you’re faced with a paradox.

For a Systems Administrator, the most valuable thing on his or her resume is experience. People without experience simply cannot compete for a job against people who have it. This field is completely hands-on and practical – most of the skills and knowledge you use, you will learn on the job.

So how the hell do you break in?

Before you even begin

Are you into Linux? Get a box, install linux on it, and start messing around with daemons. Don’t waste your time with stuff nobody uses – get CentOS (free recompile of RedHat) http://www.centos.org/ and install it on something. Play with databases, web servers, email servers, webmail, samba – get a bunch of functionality working. Create a database in MySQL without phpmyadmin – do it with the command line. Build some tables, learn basic SQL. Move onto PostgreSQL, do the same thing. Learn to dump out databases and back them up. Learn how to use rsync, learn the command line options to tar. Put “bash tutorial” into Google and learn basic bash scripting. Learn how to use find, watch, grep, cut, and sort. Get used to reading man pages and goggling stuff when you get stuck. Learn to paste error messages into Google.

If you’re into windows get a copy of 2000 server and 2k3 server and start playing with them. I don’t know how you’re going to afford that – buy educational copies or something. Get Exchange, get IIS, get them working. Get outlook talking to exchange. Get webmail working. Get an AD server going and learn how to manage groups.

Ideally, you want to have done most things a business will ask you to do before you start. More importantly, you absolutely MUST have learned HOW to learn things quickly. Where to look for information.

Second, focus on this one fact: You must get into a role where you’re performing Systems Administration work, and you must be willing to make any sacrifice necessary to do so. It’s worth almost anything to get 12 months of ‘Systems Administrator’ on your resume. Even a three month contract puts you 100% ahead of a guy with no experience.

Strategy One – the Direct Approach

I’ll include this for completeness sake.

Get a big qualification (say all the way up to RHCE, or a degree or something)

Apply to every “junior admin” role you see advertised. Sometimes people advertise ‘graduate’ positions.

Keep getting interviews until you land a role.

I don’t know how well this one works. It certainly isn’t the approach I used. I imagine university graduates who scored really well soak up these handful of jobs, and best of luck to them.

I didn’t get any qualifications at all until I was several years in and had experience under my belt. But – if you can manage it – starting out with RHCE or MCSE if you’re into windows would help you a lot, and give you a chance to go straight in the front door like this.

Strategy Two – Small Business

Several ways to approach this one.

Find a small computer/support business and apply for a job. If you can’t get a job, offer your services as a casual, or even apply for work experience. So long as you have some opportunity to interact with SERVERS. Start accruing months of experience working with servers. Apply your knowledge. If you can’t find a place with one of these businesses keep looking.

Start servicing a bunch of small businesses yourself. Everyone has data, almost everyone has a computer. You’re going to have to deal with a lot of desktops at first, and your own business is a nasty proposition on so many levels, but this is better than being purely unemployed. Just make sure that within a few months you’re working on some servers – any servers. Run your own servers and supply services to small businesses with them. Host their damn backups remotely or something. Just RUN SERVERS.

Experience in small business isn’t the most valuable out there – but experience working in small business is priceless compared to no experience at all. A few years, maybe even a few months, working for small business and you can move across to a more exciting and lucrative area. But I’ll discuss that in another article.

Strategy Three – Back Doors

This is the last approach. I list is last because out of all these approaches it’s the least direct and the most likely to trap you along the way.

Back doors are ways you can get into businesses that have systems administrators, and eventually maybe possibly perhaps become one yourself.

Get a job in a network operations centre. You will no doubt have to man phones and monitor hideously boring things, rotate tapes and all kinds of other menial crap. BUT, big companies that have a NOC also have sysadmins – and odds are there’ll be at least one unix box you can log into here. This is the closest you can get to systems administration without being an SA. Prove yourself here and make sure everybody knows your aspirations, make every effort you can to learn and grow towards them. Don’t get stuck here for years. Be looking both outside and inside the company all the time for opportunities to move into that junior sysadmin role.

Desktop support. Desktop support roles generally give you more of a chance to move into windows systems administration. If you’re smart, have an MCSE, play with windows servers at home etc, you may get the chance after a few months or a year or two. Again – make sure everyone knows your aspirations, keep learning, keep pushing yourself and proving every day that you’re the smartest desktop admin there – ready at any moment to move over into a junior admin role. Again, look constantly within and without your company for that opportunity.

Helpdesk / L1 support – avoid this if you can. You wont be working anywhere near the sysadmins and you’re two steps removed in most companies. From here you probably need to push for desktop support or NOC style roles. Similar things apply – keep studying, fund more qualifications, keep playing with servers at home and make sure everyone knows what you want to be. Except here you probably want everyone to know you want to be a desktop support or NOC guy next – and a sysadmin later.

The road can be tough – but remember this: Varied experience helps, and nothing turns people on more when they read your resume than a progression up through the ranks. People who learned desktop support before they became systems administrators have valuable knowledge that the guy who jumped from uni to a junior admin role didn’t get. You learn all kinds of things answering phones to pissed off customers and teaching total idiots how to turn their computer on too. Things like patience and people skills that you’ll still be using as a senior SA.

Finally – don’t look on these options as hot coals you need to walk over to get what you want. Most of these jobs are fun, all of them pay money, all of them will give you experience and give you opportunities to learn and grow. Not to mention meet new people. Pick whichever of this option sounds like it will work for you – or sounds the most fun – and go for it. If it doesn’t work, try another. If you’ve got what it takes to be a Systems Administrator (see part one), you belong in the role and deserve to get there – so keep working on it. We need you.

One last piece of advice – if you’re in a small town with not much of an economy, move to the big city nearby. Don’t make this harder than it already is. Once you’ve broken down the door and got some experience as an SA, you can come back to your small town, if you still want to, and have a much better chance of getting one of those rarer SA roles there.

Writing a simple e-book on a real estate related topic require no large investment, but has large profit potential. However, this isn’t just about passing on your knowledge. You also need to learn marketing skills – perhaps even more than writing skills.

Know something about real estate? You can sell your knowledge. Perhaps the easiest way to do this is with simple e-books. They are cheap to make and unlike with paper books, you can keep most of the money from every sale.

It cost $50 to set up an account with an order processor like ClickBank, and probably less than that to set up a simple web site to sell your e-book on, if you do it yourself. A domain name costs less than $10 per year to register, or about 75 cents per month. Hosting for web sites is as cheap as $6 per month now. If you don’t already have internet access, you can get it starting at $10 per month (although I recommend paying $40 for cable internet access).

What other business can you start for a couple hundred dollars or less, and have overhead costs of less than $50 per month? If you use simple articles to promote your web site (as I do), you don’t even need to spend a penny on advertising. At 999articles.com, you can even get a free e-book showing you how it is done.

The most common standard now is Adobe PDF. Many will tell you that you have to pay $300 or more for the PDF creation software, but hat isn’t true any longer. You can use Adobe PDF online to make your e-books without having to learn nearly so much technical stuff. Get the book right the first time, and you can even do it for free (they usually give free trials). Otherwise, you can pay just $11 per month to use the service as long as you need it.

Selling Real Estate Knowledge – An Example

What can you sell? Try to find a new angle. Books that simply have 70 ways to invest in real estate, or another rehashing of zero-down techniques are tough sells. If you can sell them at all, you probably won’t be able to price them very high. People want something new.

Certainly, you can just report on what others have done, and give examples and easy to understand explanations. But is better if you have some personal experience in a specific area of real estate, so you can speak with authority. It is best if you not only have experience making money in some specific way, but it is also a way that can be done in most parts of the country. Leasing cheap land in Northern Michigan to Christmas Tree farmers may have been very profitable for you, but it won’t get people in other parts very excited.

Suppose you have learned how to buy houses with basements and convert the basements into legally conforming bedrooms. Basement space adds little to the price of a home until it is carpeted and has proper windows to make it legally habitable space. By doing so you have made a large profit buying and selling several homes. Put your system on paper!

Many areas of the country have homes with basement that are unfinished. There are a lot of investors who can’t seem to make any money with their over-priced rental homes – and they would love a new way to make some money. This is a book you could sell.

In the above example, the goal would be to make the e-book as useful as possible. Make it a step-by-step guide and you don’t even have to make it very long. Many e-books that sell for as much as $60 or more are less than 100 pages, and why not? One good idea can make or save the reader hundreds of dollars after all. As long as the most crucial information is there, and it is an easy-to-read and easy-to-apply format, you have done your job.

At least you have done your job as a writer. The next important job is as a marketer. This is the job that really makes you the money. In fact, this is so important that you may want to pay for someone to write your sale’s page. This can cost as much as $2,000, but you may sell three or ten times as many books as if you did it yourself. Ask for examples of previous successful work.

If you are short on cash, you could try to arrange to pay a nominal fee up front and then a percentage of each sale. This could mean much more in the long run, but keep your initial costs down. It also means that the ad copy writer has a keen interest in making a page that sells.

It is always a good idea to have a bonus or two that go with the book. This can be another short book on a related topic. It can also be something as simple – but useful – as a checklist for inspecting houses or searching for them.

How much can you make? That depends a lot on your marketing efforts. Let’s suppose you create a $27 e-book or “e-course”. Using ClickBank as an example, you will get to keep about $24 of each sale. You can also offer a commission of say, 50% to other ClickBank affiliates who refer customers to you. These are sales you otherwise almost certainly wouldn’t have, so $12 is more than fair.

If, by distributing articles you can generate traffic of 200 visitors daily to your web site, and 1% of them buy the book, you’ll sell about 60 books per month, for an income of $1440. If affiliates refer another 20 sales or so your way, for another $240 in revenue, the total would be $1680.Want more income? Promote the book more, or leave the site to do it’s thing and write another book.

During the past ten years, the Internet has changed the way people buy houses and the way real estate agents and brokers do business. The Internet makes it easy for home buyers to quickly to sort lists of available properties in their local area and provide them with a combination of written information, photos and virtual tours. Large national real estate firms such as Realtor.com and ReMax operate web sites that furnish access to real estate listings across the country.

A consumer in the market to purchase a new home can quickly search available properties, 24 hours a day from the comfort of their own home. No longer do potential buyers have to contact a real estate agent to see local homes that meet the buyers situation. Today, with a simple online search, home buyers can easily find a real estate listings for houses that meet their needs. In most situations home buyers can obtain specifics of the listing, view photographs of the home and in some case take a virtual tour online before they contact a real estate agent to arrange a viewing.

Based on a study conducted by the National Association of Realtors, in 2007 nearly 84% of all home buyers utilized the Net while looking for real estate. This figure has virtually doubled since 2001 and is up considerably from the 2% of all home buyers who used the Internet in 1995. More important is the fact that almost 82% of these buyers used a real estate agent to complete their purchase.

These numbers show how necessary it is that real estate agents and brokers have be visible online. If future home buyer finds a property of interest on-line, it is important that they can quickly contact the listing agent through the same page or via the agents website.

One of the biggest on-line real estate resources is Realtor.com, this internet site is operated by the National Association of Realtors. Realtor.com provides over two million real estate listings. One of the features Realtor.com offers is the ability to provide contact information and a link to the listing agents website. Realtor.com is an excellent example of how the internet can be used as a well-formatted marketing and product presentation tool.

Online Marketing for Real Estate Agents

In todays market place it is necessary that every real estate agent or broker have a personal internet site that at the very minimum provides a future client with the agents contact information. More sophisticated internet sites can often be easily set up to provide supplementary listing information and pictures of available properties. Every web site should include phone numbers, office address and email address for the agent. Remember, the key to any successful real estate website is to make it easy for the home buyer to contact the real estate agent.

Other outstanding way to promote any real estate business is a blog. Blog is short for “weblogs” and are one of most efficient online marketing tools. A blog allows you to discuss your local market or specific listings as well as providing a method to market yourself and share your thoughts on the real estate industry.

Social Networking or Web 2.0 sites is the latest online marketing phenomenon to have emerged in many areas of business today. Online social networking is rapidly gaining popularity within the real estate industry.

So what is Social Networking?

Online social networking is a internet based community that allows people with similar interests discuss, contact and interact with each other. Members of these social networks can send messages to other member, chat, post video, share files and post to blogs. Some of the most popular social networking sites include Twitter, LinkedIn, MySpace, Real Estate Voices and Zolve

Hosting your website

Regardless of the marketing methods plan to use, you must have a professional, informative website that connects the buyer and real estate agent together. It is important for a realtor to consider the following when selecting a web hosting company.

What type of web site do you plan to develop? Are you planning a simple brochure site that just provides information, or one that offers listings and virtual tours or a blog. If you are planning to offer customers virtual tours of your property listings you should select a web host who understands the technology behind “virtual tours” and offers web hosting plans that provide the features and bandwith that allows them to be included in the website.

When considering any web hosting company, the first thing you should look at is where you want your online business to be in the future. Look at things like, how much traffic do you expect? How many sites do you plan to build? What type of server software will you be using? Do you require a dedicated IP address? Once you have established your needs you can begin looking at web hosting companies.

Generally a successful real estate website will also provide potential buyers with more information on a property than is available through the national MLS listing. The realtor’s web site should be comprehensive, personable, and provide clients with as many options as possible.

China has controversially given Google back their license back to operate in the region under the “Google.cn” domain name. This comes just months after a rift between them that saw Google remove operations entirely from China after strict government censoring was ruining their search results and they would no longer accept this. If you had searched for example “Tiananmen square” in Google’s Chinese search before March, you would get nothing to do with what you were looking for.

The news comes after a list of companies that have passed to operate after the ministry’s annual review included Google but there isn’t much information on what Google have to do in terms of changes to their operations.

Messages are mixed as to what this means for relations between China and the West. An unnamed official says that they will continue their opening up policy, welcoming western financial investments but also will demand that these foreign companies will follow its laws.

Everything came so fast, it was only four months ago, Google seems that they would work in China, a country with a population of over one billion of the world's largest Internet market. Google has the people, Google. Cn redirected to Google Hong Kong visits, but Friday is revised in the light of the new license, so that only Google.Cn addressed again. They believe themselves to be well under Chinese law.

In other related news,Google has been having problems with public relations in China after it was found that they has been collecting personal data from wireless networks that people had freely left password unprotected with its Street View Cars. These are the cars that picture each street in the world for use on Google Maps/Earth.

This isn’t the first time the problem has occurred. They’ve had this happen before in the US, Canada and the EU. They’ve apologized about the issue and seem to have gotten away with further action for now but there is a very real possibility that this could lead to sanctions from the government further down the line. They are also unsure as what to do with the information they have already collected from the wireless networks.

In the apology on their Google Blog, Alan Eustace spoke directly to the Australian people saying “We want to reiterate to the Australians that this was a mistake for which we are sincerely sorry”. He then goes on to tell people that peoples trust is the centre of everything they do at Google.

It won’t do any good for the reputation they seem to be accumulating of having access to too much information of ours. People use them for typing documents, email, they can see into our homes etc. It’s understandable how people get nervous.

We know that the building of any business is going to take time and effort. Throughout this building time find something outside yourself, such as an exercise program, an inexpensive hobby that will give you some fun so you can pull yourself through those sticking points.

Block 1: Set goals and adopt a ready position where you move forward fast and prevent getting caught making it perfect. Get it going and then go back and perfect it. At first you will need to learn all skills required to get the job done. While learning these skills, find those you enjoy most! When time permits take on the jobs you enjoy most and make them yours, and out sources everything else when possible.

Block 2: When you have chosen your product the most important ingredient to market any product is the hook that captures the client’s interests, the inherent perceived value of the product in the client’s mind and heart. The product marketing process requires the development of a landing page where your visitors can opt-in and provide you with their name and e-mail address. Statistics have shown that it may take seven times seeing your marketing in different formats before they will trust you enough to buy.

Block 3: Capturing the client’s name and e-mail address requires in an auto-responder. After a client submits their information you can setup a follow-up marketing campaigns to deliver subscribers informative e-mails to automatically to close the sale. With an auto-responder and developed e-mail messages you can create a trust building process through videos, sales letters and webinars. The sales message needs to communicate: Who you are? What product are you marketing? Why the product benefits the clients needs? And how can the client obtain the product? Providing proof of the product’s benefits with sales advertising that is honest, truthful and guarantees the value of the product is extremely important. Prior to this you have determined that your product had value for your client, so focus the marketing on the benefits the product gives the customer.

Block 4: Strategically target your marketing to: their likes & dislikes, knowing what makes them happy or angry, and what keeps them up at night. Knowing the target market allows you to find where they congregate. “The internet is powerful because everyone congregates together based on similar beliefs, values and interests” by Russell Bronson. Knowing this powerful information provides you the opportunity with the next step.

Block 5: This next step is getting your ads in front of you targeted market. The fun becomes marketing products that sell, finding where the clients are, and putting the ads in front of those clients.

So in summary, selling your product requires:

First, prepare by setting goals and a ready position in a format of taking affirmative action with plans to come back later and perfect the details.

Secondly, develop a landing page where you will collect many visitors’ names and e-mail addresses. Then it requires adopting the appropriate attitude of getting it done. The landing page is a reasonably easy task and can be inexpensively outsourced. But you will need to provide the materials for the landing page and then get the page on to the Internet. It requires a domain name, a web-hosting site, and an auto-responder that retrieves the client’s information.

Thirdly, an auto-responder allows you to collect customer’s emails and name so that you can send campaigns of other products and services. In the follow-up campaigns e-mail messages you can create a trust building process through videos, sales letters and webinars. Follow-up marketing campaigns often called a sales page can answer the following questions: Who am I? What do I have? Why should my visitors want it? And how can they get it?

Fourth, make sure your product’s claims are true! Also create a follow-up system with a list of testimonials to show them further proof because you have strategically marketed to your congregates likes, values and interests.

Fifth, be informed about marketing your product to your customer and strategically targeting your marketing ads.

I am going through the whole process of basic SEO (search engine optimization) in getting a web site to the top of search engine result pages which includes just what SEO really is and what it is about.

This is the fourteenth article in this series.

If you have your keywords and keyword phrases, domain name(s), and have your web site optimized for SEO…you are ready to begin the process of getting your web site up in the search engine ranking pages.

After all of time with the setting phase of the SEO campaign is investing might think, man, work of SEO is complex. It is not.

Everything you want to do is write articles and submit them to directories of high page rank article. Not so bad, but needs much work. Before clicking on that, though, there are several good sources on the Internet, it is said that before Google to your website.

I'll show you where you are going to do this, but I also want to sayyou why you should “Not” do it.

Here is the location to submit your web site.

Go to http://www.google.com, go to the bottom of the page where it says “About Google” and then click on it. Next you would go the column showing “For site owners”. Go ahead and then click on the “Add URL to Googles’ Index”.

This puts your web address into a “waiting list” to be indexed at some point in time. If you do this, you would have to wait at least 30 days or so before they get to it. It could possibly take several months even.

There is a better and much faster way though to get indexed.

I will explain what you do and why it works.

Instead of manually going to Google and signing up your link, sign up into an article directory with a high Page Rank of at least a 5 or 6, write an article and submit it. That’s it!

Here is what happens. High Page ranked web sites are visited by the search engines frequently. Article directories typically have a very high stream of content being submitted to them. If the article directory has a high Page Rank value, you can bet that Google is constantly querying the site for fresh content to the point that you might think they reside there.

If that article directory approves your article and publishes it, Google will soon do a “fresh” crawl, grab the content of the article, and places the links in your article in a separate index. Google will then go to those links and “crawl” your web site. Just like that, they have indexed your web site and are aware of it. Instead of waiting several months, you will have your site indexed in days.

Here are the top 5 reasons for success in network marketing (MLM) and direct sales is so bad.

Reason 1

The refusal of the razor

The model of network marketing company, like most companies is based on relationships. Network marketing is a new recruit who can teach people to contact and an existing relationship. The trust factor is already in a relationship for so long was found built to go. New approaches to recruit MLMthey know with a mistaken belief and expects how their friends and family will react after seeing the presentation. The new recruit feels they’ve located the map to the golden treasure. They can’t wait to show their friends and family. After presenting the business to them, he is unprepared for the rejection, skepticism and total dismay at how he could’ve become involved in such a scam, or industry. Many new recruits are not prepared for the objections they hear and then the perceived ridicule they encounter. The new recruit, who’s sole intention is to share this new wealth generation strategy and system, gets slammed by people closest to him in his life. He just cannot understand why his warm market can’t see this glorious wealth opportunity he has shown them.

Reason 2

Network Marketing Opportunities Easy In Easy Out

In a majority of Network Marketing Opportunities it is just way to easy to get into. Start up costs are much lower in relation to a typical bricks and mortar industry. Even the entrepreneur who goes to the extend of setting up a company name, incorporating the business, getting business cards etc… his start up costs are still considerably quite low. With such low start up costs a majority of people view getting into a network marketing opportunity as a low risk investment. The start up costs usually depend on what the opportunity is, the structure of the business (sole proprietorship vs. incorporation), etc. Generally start up costs can range anywhere from several hundred to several thousand dollars. When the business does not do as well as planned, and cash flow gets tight, going out business is relatively easy. The new business owner uses up or gives away any inventory that is on hand. There are no lease or rental contracts to worry about, no employees to terminate. All you have is the owner who shuts down the business and walks away.

Reason 3

Network Marketing And Greed

A majority of people who see the opportunity right off the bat are blinded by the potential income they can make. They see the potential income and their greed glands begin to pulsate. I mean look at the scenario being drawn out for them: they recruit three people who go out and recruit three and in six months they have a network of people selling product and recruiting. They can now live the high life and sit back and collect income. The network marketing industry must accept some responsibility for getting every ones greed gland swelling. How many ads are there, or presentations that show a potential prospect how easy it is to make a considerable income in such a short period of time. Sure it can actually happen, (and has) however it must also be recognized that a lot of hard work, time and effort go into creating such success. It is really funny that the majority of people who sign up for their MLM business rarely see or pay attention to the earnings disclaimer shown. You know the one that shows how much the average Network Marketing representative actually makes in a year. Always ensure any new potential recruit sees and understands what that earnings disclaimer means. Failure to do so usually leads to the scenario I described in reason two of easy in / easy out in the network marketing industry.

Reason 4

Lacking in Necessary Business Skill Sets

A majority of new Network Marketers basically are not business minded or oriented. They lack the necessary communication or marketing skill set to get their businesses up and running quickly. Keep in mind that the Network Marketing business model is not the normal business model people are accustom to. So they jump in with both feet and tremendous exuberance. Unfortunately they are offered limited training on how to effectively invite people, how to handle objections etc. Then when the new recruit decides to go the cold market route, by advertising on the Internet, he is stunned when he suddenly realizes he must learn how to purchase and operate the following: a domain name, web hosting, auto-responder programs and learn copy writing and advertising techniques to name a few. Realistically the majority of people who become involved with Network Marketing have no real concept on how to effectively operate a business. Then there are the individuals who don’t see it as operating a business to begin with. They view their network marketing or direct sales opportunity as a hobby rather then a potential income producing business. Learning to operate a business is a skill anyone can learn, they must be prepared to learn new things and build their business over a realistic time frame.

Reason 5

Mind Set and Undying Faith

This reason to me is the number one primary reason the success rate in Network Marketing is so low. We know there are individuals with some tremendous success stories in the Network Marketing industry. Ask any one of these successful people and they will gladly tell you at what cost this success came with. They will speak of the many hours of work, sweat and toil they put into building their organizations. All the trainings they attended and all the over and above’s of doing this business. Many have done this while still working 40 hours a week, tending to family and household matters. They went in with the proper mindset to develop a huge profitable organization. All the while having an undying faith in the role they play to generate success in Network Marketing for themselves and their team.

Learn to avoid these pitfalls in your Network Marketing or Direct Sales business and you will generate enormous success.

While most companies have specific policies and a printed procedure manual written up for employees to follow, your cleaning business may have started on a part-time basis with you doing everything. Most likely, nothing was put in writing. With many different tasks pulling you in a thousand directions, putting your procedures down into writing has most likely not made it to the top of your “to do” list. But what happens when you want to go on a vacation? Or if you become sick or injured? Have a written policy and procedures for manual cleaning of your company means that you can run your business if you are sick or injured, or if you decide to take some time.

So as you go how do you write for your business running? Start with the realization of this important task should be. Here are some tips to help you a manual process of cleaning the area:

First Do not try to sit down and writeyour manual in one sitting. You will get discouraged and most likely set the document aside and never get back to it. You do not have to tackle this project all at once. Instead, set aside a block of time every day or once a week to work on your manual.

2. Set up your manual as a Microsoft Word document and password protect it. Microsoft Word is an easy program to work with and allows you to easily make changes. By password protecting the document it will not be accessible to anyone else. Just make sure you share the password with a spouse or trusted assistant in case something happens to you.

3. Start by putting basic information into your manual. This is the information that you needed to get your cleaning business up and running and is probably scattered about your office in numerous documents. Some of the information you’ll want to document include: your business address, e-mail, phone number, fax number, your attorney’s name and address, accountant’s name and address, bank account information, Employee Identification Number (EIN), sales tax number and credit card information.

4. When you are working on specific tasks for your business, whether that be sending out billings, making sales calls, etc., write down your procedures. If there are particular tasks that have to be done regularly, or other tasks you feel are important to the business, make sure you document the procedures, step-by-step. You can even dictate the specific procedures into a tape recorder and transcribed them.

Fifth If other people help you, as an assistant accountant or seller, documenting what they do. For example, if the accountant is responsible for paying the tax must record all relevant information, including when to send the taxes where it goes, he or she asks if there are any questions. Keep the manual in accordance with using a simple model to use for all your procedures. It 'an example of the format of a section:

First Date updated: _________________

According Updated by: ___________________

Third procedures ____________________________________

List the fourth step process

A full page should look like this:

Date updated: 15/09/2006

Updated by: John Jones

Procedures required to check voice mail.

– Call 555-5555

– Press the # key to stop the message

– Enter code: 9156

-Listening to messages

– Press 3 to delete you, the message, press 7 to save the message

Here are other items that you probably want it in your cleaning business' to include manual methods. This is only a general list. be one of the first steps in putting together the manual just to decide what information to include.

– Important contact information.

– Contact information of the customer and contract information.

– Bank account numbers and passwords.

-Vendor lists.

- Legal information

- Type of business entity, important account numbers.

- Computer procedures, software and product ID’s, back-up systems.

- Website designer, website host and registrar for domain names.

- Bookkeeping procedures.

- Procedures for paying taxes.

- Payroll procedures.

- Employee evaluation procedures.

- Where to find equipment warranties and service information. Information on your safety program including where to find MSDS sheets.

The easiest way to begin putting together your manual is to make a list of all the things that you and others do for your cleaning company that need to be documented. If you can delegate some of these items to others then do so! That will make your job all that much easier. Put together a template that works for your cleaning business and then start filling in the blanks. Before you know it, your manual will be completed. Print it off and put it into a three-ring binder so you can use it as a reference. Then if for some reason you cannot work or if you decide to finally take that vacation there will be procedures in place so your cleaning business can run efficiently in your absence.

The Internet is a different medium from others like print and TV, which allow limited participation for users and no empowerment at all. The Internet allows any individual to broadcast his or her opinion and conduct transactions with another entity. A website is a page stored in a drive that can be accessed through the Internet. An individual or entity can use one’s own dedicated website or use other sites for promotion.

Web hosting is a term that describes a process in which a company rents space in its drive to host the web pages of its clients. The dotcom burst was preceded by a mad rush to start websites for any sort of business without strong fundamentals. The dotcom v.2 has matured with the upgrade of user-friendly technology and e-commerce. This is illustrated by the number of registrations in Canada after 2002.

The Canadian web hosting market is dominated by number of players providing a host of services such as domain name registration, disk space, and bandwidth. Besides, they provide email accounts, data transfer, mySQL database, and other applications. The web hosts could be parent hosts, resellers, free hosts, and cheap hosts.

To host a site, the companies charge fees starting at $5 CAD/month and domains for $10 CAD/year. The services usually come in plans with many features. The services include support twenty-four Hours a day, seven days a week, the reliability as a money-back guarantee and guaranteed availability.

A web hosting service is based will be decided at the end. A website for individuals are not certain e-commerce functions, companies need more than one email account services and risk management as spam, antivirus and data backup.

A good host can VS complaints are decided by the speed of the sites of other customers and the number ofbenefits. Although it is cheap to host from anywhere, it is better to have a host server from the region where the customers are located so that the there are no delays in downloads and page visits.

How to make your own website for beginners. You would think in this day and age of computers and advances made with the internet that it would be relatively straightforward and easy to make your own website, yet, as you may have personally found, sometimes you can spend hours trawling the web trying to find the perfect tools for your requirements.

Perhaps you are one of these individuals who still does not know how to make your own website from scratch?

Perhaps you are confused, you’ve spent hours if not days trying to find the perfect website building tool for your needs and still not turned up anything?

Ideally, you want a tool where you can pick out a suitable template to use, fill in a few simple boxes, such as your website title, description, the various buttons and sub pages that you want to see used upon your website, add content and at the end you just want to click a button which automatically creates the whole website for you, in double quick time, making the entire process quite literally as painless as possible.

What’s more, you don’t want to use a sub domain name which isn’t going to do your search engine optimization any good at all. What you do want is to be able to use your very own domain name and to effortlessly host your website on your own server.

Until now, such services online have always cost the earth, making it cost prohibitive for many people, especially in this economic downturn, when it is all important to keep your development costs as low as possible.

There are tools available though which can help you to achieve all of this and more, starting from just a few dollars, if you know where to find such services online. Now you really can find out for yourself how to make your own website, design it completely in just a few minutes, add content, upload it to your own server using your own domain name and voila, your website is launched, ready for work, ready to go.

You do not need no more searching for days to find the perfect instrument – how to make your website, but there are other considerations to take into account, earn't save more cash and a lot of time, if you know how you would like to make your website.

The first thing you need is a generic domain name and a password to do so. I do not want to be with a name brand is the point here. If youdo go this route, that is, a brandname domain name, you could end up having to pay a high cost in terms of time spent and capital outlay.

To choose a generic domain, first you’ll need to do some keyword research.

Let’s get a couple of tabs open in your browser for starters.

First website you’ll want to go to is the Google External Keyword Tool, just type that into your browser window as it is shown here, no need to put .com or anything else on the end, just write it as it is and the website, after you click on Enter, will show up automatically.

They’ll be a small white box almost in the center of the screen. Put a word that describes your intended website in here, for example, if the website you have in mind is to be about ‘scuba diving’, you might put the words Scuba Diving alongside each other in that box. Next fill in the captcha code, then click on Get Keyword Ideas. Wait two seconds and the results will appear below.

The top result on this keyword list is likely to be Scuba Diving. Follow the data shown along on that line from left to right. You’ll see a box first, you can ignore that, the next column is Approx Search Volume (Month), there you will see a figure which shows you the approximate number of times that people were looking for this keyword phrase at Google for the previous month, the next set of figures to the right of this will be the Average Monthly Search Number throughout the course of the year.

You want this figure typically to be over 500 searches per month, the higher the number, the better.

The next tab I want you to open in your browser is your domain registration company of choice, everyone has their favorite. In their search box I want you to type in the keyword/s to see if the domain name is available. In this example, I would tpye in ScubaDiving & Scuba-Diving with the dash, hyphen in the middle, separating the two words, this increases the chances of finding an available domain name to register. I would then tick the extensions that I want to search these domains under and my preference would be to tick first the .com followed by the .org and last but not least the .net – I’d forget about using any others unless your site is aimed at a particular geographical part of the world, then you might want to look under for example .ca (Canada) or .co.uk (UK) or .de (Germany) or .fr (France) or .es (Spain) etc etc.

If the domain is available under the .com the .org or the .net I would keep that page open for a few minutes.

Next tab to open would be the Google homepage. When it is open I would type into the search box the keyword/s, in this example, exactly like this: “Scuba Diving” and hit search. The results as you know will show up within a second or less normally. See the blue bar at the top of the page? Look to the right on the blue bar. It will tell you the number of competing sites that are targeting the keyword / s, if this number is less than 200,000 give or take, before returning to your domain registration company and domain registration for themselves. The minimum length of time that you register a domain name is one year, costs $ 5 to 10.00 per year.

The Google keywords external tool, if the top result is not available as domain names, keep looking all the way down, looking for searches over 500 per month, then to Google Search to find out how many competing websites are targeting that keyword/s, then to your domain registration company to find out if the domain is available just as I’ve explained above.

After typically a few minutes you should have a natural keyword domain name which you can use for your brand new website, which will be excellent for your sites natural search engine optimization and traffic / visitor results.

Now, you go back to your website builder of choice and start building, creating your website using your keywords within the content to give you the best chance of ranking very highly for those keywords – this will send you a lot more natural hot traffic, people who are really interested in your product or service.

How to make your own website really can be very easy if you are armed first with some excellent advice, take these simple tips on board and there is no reason why you too, should not be reaping the benefits of your labor and hopefully seeing a good return on your time expended and money spent.
